Pokemon Black & White: Evolution Speculation

Well, speculation on possible Pokemon that may come with the fifth Generation of Pokemon has been flying around and my friend Aiji (aka MrMurai) has actually made a video with some of his opinions on what should be included and updated.



He has some pretty interesting ideas there.

As for me, I'm not much on speculation for the kind of Pokemon they may bring into the games, but I can at least leave my thoughts.

Evolutions of Previous Pokemon
Pachirisu is one of those Pokemon I saw as a kind-of Pikachu-like Pokemon. Not only does it indicate its similarity to Pikachu in the TV show by being caught by a main character of the series, (currently the only capture of an Electric-type by anyone who has been in Ash's group, other than himself) but its name is kind of reminiscent to Pikachu as well. If it was to evolve, I'd expect it to be named something like "Raichirisu" with the possibility of it being part-Flying (flying squirrels) to knock Zapdos off the unique list. (awesome Dis-Quake chances in doubles, too!)

Eevee is the obligatory option for new evolutions. Currently, the only Generation that hasn't included new evolutions for Eevee has been Generation III and I kind of have a feeling that Eevee will have another pair of evolutions to come its way come Generation V. Though I quite honestly can only see the inclusion of two more being possible in a logical setting. A Ground-type and (finally) a Normal-type to make Eevee's line come full-circle and give it a 'natural' evolution.

The other types sound cool and all, (like a Dragon-type, Flying-type or a Poison-type, but I don't really hold any high hopes on those types really working well with the kind of Pokemon they have to work with. Though I'll give credit to those who have made designs of their own for Eevee evolutions that do use the other types. Its just I don't see those working personally.

Others... Qwilfish for one, Farfetch'd, Chatot, Mawile, Sableye, Delcatty, Delibird (maybe?), Corsola, Dunsparce (Dunserpent would be an awesome Normal/Dragon-type, no?) and Girafarig.

Branch Evolutions/Pre-Evolutions
Hmm... a little trickier... but I suppose:
For baby:
Miltank and Tuaros. I've noticed that these are extremely popular among people online for a potential pre-evolution and I'd say I somewhat agree. One I don't agree with though would be a pre-evolution for Pinsir/Heracross. (I've seen people wanting an evolution of Heracross too; don't you think its good enough!?)

Type Combinations

I'm only going to talk about the possible Legendary Trio in this for now, but I honestly think that there should be a trio of Dragons. A Fire-type, Ice-type and Electric-type Dragon would be absolutely awesome, in all honesty.

The one Pokemon I can see getting more Branching evolutions would be Porygon 2, as it has a ton of possibilities. I'd love to see a more defensive evolution from Porygon 2 and maybe a more physically offensive evolution (possibly with Porygon-X and Porygon-Y being the names?)
